Since we're talking previous cars, I'll play. Nothing collectible. Some duds, some winners:
Bought my first car in 1985, the year I turned 16. Here are the cars I've owned, ending with my current car:
1969 VW type III notchback
1982 VW Rabbit
1984 VW Rabbit GTI
1985 VW Scirocco
1986 VW Scirocco
1986 Audi 4000S
1988 Mazda B2200 pickup with camper shell
1993 Mazda Protege
2002 Hyundai Elantra
2006 Mazda3
2010 Mazda5
The cars I miss the most? Probably the '84 GTI (incredible blast to drive), and definitely the '88 Mazda pickup. Made a cross-country trip with that, loaded to the gills.
The longevity award goes to the '86 Scirocco, which clocked >180,000 miles with very few problems, none serious, and even looked fantastic after all those miles. Sold it for close to what I paid for it 80,000 miles earlier.
The '06 Mazda3 wins in reliability, never having a single problem, but I only owned it for four years and 42,000 miles.
The lemon award goes to the one and only Hyundai I ever owned. Nice, comfy car, but way too many little problems cropping up.
