Our camcorder is a nice one but not HD (Canon GL-2 I think). It's our third camera. We chose it because it has a high shutter speed and good lens in lower light conditions. Since it's DV tape we use that as a back up (if TiVO dies or something), so we have 60-80 min of "memory".

We also have the other two camcorders (one is mine, one is the race's; the very first one was totally destroyed when it fell over), extra tapes, etc etc etc.

The goal is to have a big pipeline into the mac (firewire 800 probably). I already bought two 15' cables for that, but don't have either the camcorder or my own mac with firewire.

I'd want to have two computers, two camcorders, just in case. The current camera with TiVO and tv screen would be the third back up.
