I can't get the rear wheel off with the tire inflated because the chainstay bridge keeps the wheel from moving far enough forward to clear the horozontal DOs on my son's new '81 Centurion Super Tour 15. The bike is sporting a 27 x 1 1/4 tire on 27 x 1 1/4 Rigida rim.

The rubber could use replacing so I may try a smaller tire to see if it gives me adequate room as I only need an additional 1/4" or so. Anyone run into this on their vintage rides?
