Would this be a worthwhile upgrade for a recreational rider? The bike would be used in S. Utah on chipseal roads. I don't race but like to be comfortable on my 20-40 mile recreational rides.

A couple of ideas:

Looked it up, the 5.0s are 784g in the front and 1018g in the rear. I think they are way too heavy for carbon.

I'm 6'2" and weigh 175 - the bike is a stock 61 cm frame.

Thanks for your input!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 use a aluminum rim with a carbon wrap on top. I saw them at my LBS, and was interested in the store, but hitting on the rim surface sounded way different from the sound a carbon ZIPP 404 made. They are also sort of heavy. I think the rear wheels are almost 1000 grams alone.

For the RS, I'd get a high end set of carbon wheels. They need something way better than the R500 you got right now
