Super Clydesdale?!
My name is Brian. I suppose I would be considered a Clydesdale, or maybe a Super-Clydesdale. I'm 6'0" about 350 (but I don't really look it), and I've just gotten back into biking after a 20 year hiatus (stopped when I was 10-- long story for another time). Anyway, I live in Boston, MA-- a decently bike friendly city honestly.
I just bought a Specialized Hardrock sport disc 29er a few weeks ago. I had a little trouble finding padded shorts, but tracked some down online. Helmet-- heh, my size 8 Red Sox hat barely fits me. I eventually found one that fits, and off I go.
I'm getting in better shape slowly but surely, and my wife's family all loves to bike. They rent a house on Cape Cod every summer and go to ride all week. It's my hope I can join them. I have a local park with a serious steady hill climb I ride frequently to help build up endurance. I still get saddle sore a bit, but I push through.
Any words of wisdom or tips for a really big guy like me?
Cheers,
Brian
