My wife will be buying one of these bikes in the near future. She is coming off of a comfort bike and wants more speed and a less vertical posture.
She will be buying from a local bike shop as she wants to give them the business. So her choices are: Trek FX3 WSD ...MSRP $680 OR
Specialized Vita Elite...MSRP $700
She rode the Trek today and had a good experience with it. In the FX3, a step through is available. She is 60 and thinks the step thru may have an advantage, but I don't really see it myself.
She will be riding the Vita soon. The Vita only has a step thru in a $470 model, which has lesser components. The Vita Elite has a carbon/alloy fork while the Trek has an alloy fork.

All opinions and ideas would be appreciated to help her make her decision.
