My Take-A-Look came with the piece of plastic for mounting on a helmet. Worked ok, but the adhesive pads failed after awhile. I cut a short slot in the helmet and stuck the piece of plastic in that and it has worked fine for a number of years now. Any rigid piece of plastic should work, but I'd question whether an old credit card would be rigid enough. The plastic piece they supply is thicker than that.
