I don't know whether other stores do this, but the Seattle flagship store has a room in the basement where they sell returned merchandise. It doesn't have the no questions guarantee anymore, because that's already been used, but it usually goes for a song. I got my commuter bike for about half its list price this way - and it came with a free tune up.
I was at the store yesterday and the lady did tell me it was ok on Novara brand and at regular price. The bike is probably a step through model. It will the the Fiona with the better wheel and component as compare to the Mia. It mainly a weekender bike for my SO. I don't think we get lots of sales on return item here in the Bay Area
