Our main touring expedition of the year will be after Paris Brest Paris in August. We will have just under 4 weeks. So after a few days rest to get over PBP we will head off exploring France.
At this stage, we're probably thinking of three sections. One in Brittany/Normandie then head down to the southern parts of France and then maybe across to either Provence or the Alpes. This will be on our Bike Friday Traveler XL tandem using the train to relocate between the regions.
For something completely different, we have not ruled out ducking across to Western Scotland and doing a week through the western islands. That would probably be a last minute call, depending on the weather.
When we tour, we tend to not book in advance, but have a plan A, B and C according to the weather, how we feel and what takes our fancy at the time.
We'll also have a couple of shorter domestic trips as "practice" for the above. What a great excuse to practice.
