That sounds great -- and a lot like one of my best trips ever. We set up on an island in a huge inland lake near Lake Superior and spent the week poking around the multitude of islands, inlets and tributaries. Doing it hub-and-spoke style was very relaxing: no daily setup and takedown chores, and no need to find a new site every night. We also allowed ourselves a few extra comforts, since we weren't lugging everything from place to place every day.
