I was incredibly lucky to avoid concussion. I'm glad your daughter's alright this was all a bit scary to go through.
I'm thinking thumbies are what I might do. It's odd through because I find the long stem friction shifter on my Schwinn to be very comfortable to use. I'll try new bars first before making the jump.

I think I'm leaning toward the Mustashes right now. Especially if they are inverse lever compatible. Plus the Porteurs won't be available in road size again till April. Damn if it's not a touch choice though! Thanks!
