crit racing help...
So I ran my first crit series race this weekend, and got dropped at the end of the second lap. I was unusually flat, and when I came out of the saddle to try to catch up my right knee buckled, and I really just felt like crap.
This race is in Maine, and the roads haven't been decent for very long so I haven't gotten hardly any riding in... BUT... i've been running four miles a day a few times a week so I'm not grossly out of shape.
What can I do to try to improve for this next race? Rain hampered my riding plans today with temps only being in the 30's. The race is 12 laps around a 1.25 flat industrial park.
My plan is to ride a hard 22 mile ride tomorrow which will have all types of terrain. Run four miles wednesday. Ride EIGHT hard laps around that park on thursday. Run four miles friday. Do nothing saturday, and race on sunday.
Will this give me the best possible chance to atleast show marked improvement?
