Bikes: 3 Rollfasts, 3 Schwinns, a Shelby and a Higgins Flightliner in a pear tree!

Mark, you can't just hop in and find large air when you are intimidated as you are. No matter what others explain to you if you realy do want to race you are going to have to seek therapy and eliminate your fears if you can.

You are more afraid of injury than actually taking air. All BMXers are not fond of injury and that is why they learn how to handle their courses, however they are built.

And one more thing, Mister Fear of scrambling the Rancheros, have you ever noticed that Maximum Exposure and Whacked-Out Sports ain't too keen on showing anybody dying? Let that be your guide!

I went to a few practices and road the track. I met a few other older guys that were either riding because their kid rides or raced in the 80s and wanted to rekindle the fun. I bought a few BMX videos and talked to guys about how to pump and manual instead of flying over the jumps. Well the last practice day I saw an older guy flip over his bars and break his collarbone! The next day I sold my bike and quit.

Now the bug is biting me again. Any ideas? I'm scared of crashing and being hurt at my age.
