Since you never did elaborate like I asked whenever you orginally posted this. I will.

He can run spacers on top of his stem with no issue other than a potential added danger to his family jewels. (Although even I think his is rather excessive.) The only time this is ov real concern is when we're dealing with a carbon steerer (which we aren't) In fact I'm presently running a pair of above stem spacers on my new Surly 1x1 fork and if I'm not worried there's no reason he should be
