Not sure about the wheels, but they look similar to the Rolf design. I beat the crap out of my entry level Rolf wheelset on a hardtail mountain bike and they performed beautifully. YMMV.
That is a great bike, and for $400 with essentially 0 miles, it is a steal........ IF it fits you.
I agree. The fact that it is 5 years old means nothing. With nearly 0 miles, it's really new. You do lose the warranty, but I would do it in a heartbeat. Someone will, and soon. I wouldn't be screwing around talking to us, go buy it
