I don't like to cut corners when it comes to my head. My brain lives there.
I used Triple-Eight helmets in skateboarding and BMX, and my Triple-Eight took some serious punishment, and it never gave me any issues. I was pretty shocked that my head was even on my shoulders on some of the impacts I've taken. They're not super-expensive either, but they're very durable, and they provide excellent impact protection.
