There are all sorts of age-related degenerative muscular disorders that are improved through low-impact exercise. Cycling is the perfect activity for such people, but often their balance and muscle control is not top-knotch. A trike would be the perfect thing for such people. I don't know the medical name for such disorders, but my grandmother had such a condition.
