Krispistoferson: Do you fail to see the irony in the fact that I've got a person with a thumbnail of a man shooting up an office giving me coping skills advice?!!!
Are some of you people really that dense? Are you really incabable of getting past the word **** to understand the meaning of the analogy. Maybe my work experience has exposed me too often to the tragedy and I have become somewhat cauloused, but blaming the victim is blaming the victim regardless of the crime. I never even said that I was a victim; my assertion was that the poster's argument was analogous to blaming the **** victim. If you can't comprehend the meaning of the analogy, that is the responsibility of your post-secondary educators, not me.
Thanks to everyone who has offered legitimate advice on how to deal with this situation. The propensity of many on this forum to launch into attack mode simply because you don't view the situation as a legitimate problem significantly devalues the benefits of the forum. It was a problem to me and that should have engendered some amount of respect. Maybe we have different understandings of what the forums are, but I believe they should be a place to get legitimate advice and discussion. I have been a constructive member of the forum and have offered non-judgemental advice to many and I believe I am entitled to the same.
