@Colleen: Kickstand FTW. OK, you may get barred from every bike shop if you put a kickstand on a $3500 bike. I'm very confident that I'll never own a $3500 bike (if someone gave me one I'd sell it and use the money to go to Hawaii or something), so I wouldn't know.
I recalled a little over a year ago when I bought my carbon fiber bike. At the same time, I was also retrofitting my MTB as a backup commuter. I was at REI with a new worker whom I never met before. I decided to do a one stop shopping. So here I was paying for my Carbon Bike along with a Topeak rack, and a Topeak bag with a side pannier. The saleman was giving this WTF expression on his face. I told him those were for the commuter bike and not the carbon bike. He breathe a sign of relief. Too bad I was not also buying a kickstand at the time
