Ha! That's a great line. I think a lot of coastal folks are pleasantly surprised to find out how much more inexpensive it is to live in flyover country. I've seen it many times - here in Colorado - where previously coastal people pack everything up and move out for good.
I'm sure cities like Detroit, Cleveland, St. Louis, and other rustbelt towns have some real deals. In the same spirit, out west, there was one town in rural KS that was giving away land (article here http://moneywatch.bnet.com/saving-mo...its-free/3221/).
