Actually, it wasn't a problem. It's a little cafe/store in the hills and they use lean tri-tip and not too many beans. I usually only get the chili if most of the climbing is done.
Another place on the coast has clam chowder that works well for me mid-ride.
Where I do have stomach problems is with those damned gels and gu products. Also, too many fries or chips makes trouble.
Sometimes we go in the mountains where there are no stores and I bring tuna and make a sandwich. Gets me through 9k feet of climbing.
