I agree with you on Irvine. The cycling is great. I did a 45 mile ride today through Irvine and around the Newport Back Bay. The downside of course is the promimety to Burbank. However, if someone wanted to take the train the Amtrak does go from Irvine to Glendale or Burbank, but it would be a pain.
