I doubt many people care enough about Bill to click through 5 boring pages of him thinking he's more important than he really is. He glossed over the one thing that could have been interesting about the whole article, which is why he actually changed his mind.
Everybody knows 2 things: 1. Lance doped. 2. Bicycling isn't a very good magazine. Now that Lance is retired and they can't make any more money off of saying how great he is, they'll finally admit that he doped. Lance will get mad and never give them any interviews, but they don't need his interviews now. The fanboys will get mad and will quit reading Bicycling, but they would have quit reading anyway now that Lance is gone.
The whole thing seems about 5 years late to me.
