Well, I have many excuses, non valid if you are a hardcore biker. The transistion from TX to TN to NH was hard. NH roads and weather are a challenge. Lost job 10 miles from home, found job 40 miles from home. Life happens.
But, this morning I woke up at 5:50 and put on those bike clothes that lay dormant in the drawer. 39F (4C) and pulled my crap together. Put bike and panniers in car and drove 30 miles. Parked at Fire Department and headed off. Crap...forgot helmet! Got stupid and rode anyway. Here is the
ride. Not fun starting off with cold wind and no body heat. Not fun going home but at least I don't have to worry about sweat on the drive home!
So, each time I ride I save 23% of the drive. If I can make it a daily habit I will reduce commute from 780 miles to 600. And shed some weight and live longer!
Note to file: Broken spoke in rear needs fixing. Remember helmet. Eat better food.
