Then check your state/local laws to verify that you have indeed the right to ride on the road. Chances are 99% that you can.
Then file an official complaint with the police department. Send a letter to each and every member of your city council, the mayor’s office, the chief of police, the local newspaper, your local bike advocacy organization, and whoever else you can possibly think of. CC everybody, so they know you are making a big fuss out of it - as you should.
That should be $10 worth of stamps but it'll hopefully teach that cop not to do it again. Of course they are above the law so there's no guarantee but it's worth a try.
this post is old...oh well i was riding with my dad last year and i cop passed us and i told my dad "watch this" and i sprinted up to the cop and passed him. i thought its funny how if i was in a car he would have pulled me over but im on a bike
as for the women from 2004 i posted this in a thread a while back. i had a car with a few 16 year old punks yell *** at me. then we both caught the light and i said "get out of that car and i'll show you whos a ***" their faces where priceless. then i find out that if i hit them i could get introuble because they are "minors" . people that say stuff i just yell F* off or somthing mean. i had a guy honk his horn at me when i crossed a road and i wasnt in his way in the slightest bit so i HAD to give him the bird and i prayed for him to turn around
