Oh thanks i am aware of the lithium batteries from the store i bought this ebike from and i was told at that time how much more they cost. Too much for me! As this is my first ebike and the first general bike i have owned for 20 years, i was willing to find out what is what.
Yes i am aware the new batteries would weight more. I don't even have a concept of how much what i have weighs or how much more the new ones will be. The bike is very strong i know that as i made a trailor and it easily pulls the shopping along. Yes i realise the bag situation is a bother because the dimensions will be maybe 40% more.
Oh the friend was sure that the batteries he mentioned were right and didn't say i would have to rewire. He told me a lot of stuff that i do not understand as i am no scientist he he. Yes he told me i would have to get 3 just like the old set up and that it would weigh a lot more.
I can make a new bag by the way as i am a sewer of many types of things for over 40 years and dad is a sewing machine mechanic. My sister is an upholsterer so we are pretty good with anything sewing!!!
OK the crimping thing i know how to do now as i had the nephew of a neighbour do a repair on the battery(long story) some weeks ago. I know some electrical things also because of my dad :0)
Thanks yeah i sort have the distance thing covered as i explained how far i went to a few people and they said ok well you need a stronger battery. It is just that i don't have the motor on unless i have to or use the throttle. That i can't estimate as the terrain is so different all the time. Sydney has such a variation of steep hills and flats...then everything in between.
The money well i am going to 'bite the bullet' for those batteries. $225 australian is better than double that amount :0). I will just do without clothes shopping for a while he he. No i make my own clothes most of the time anyway and i sold some things on ebay so the money is there but no more than that!
