It's not 450 push-ups in a row. I do 3-4 cycles per set. Always 150 push-ups the 1st cycle. The next cycle I do 100-130 push-ups. Not much, but after 3-4 cycles, I'm usually over 500 push-ups. Not dificult at all, hardest is to count right. Push-ups is the best exercise for my core that I can think of.
Military pushups?? The ones where your elbow stays close to your chest and bend back vs sideways. Are you going aaaallll the way down??
I do the " perfect push-up" with that thing that rotates. It's nice. But I do 25 + 20 + 15 + 15. So those hundreds sound impressive.
