I appreciate your opinion, but don't single me out on here and preach. You don't know how I handle passing on bikes to others, nor do I encourage flipping bikes as they are. I'll admit I may resell a bike or two that needs tires, but I go through and clean them till spotless and ensure they are in proper operating condtion.
I didn't mean it as a comment about you in particular. If you don't buy bikes as re-sell them as you bought them then I'm not talking about you at all. Sorry if it was misinterpreted. It was directed only at a comment, which to me did imply a quick "buy and sell" flip. If you're not doing that and also helping keep decent old bikes on the road by cleaning them up then good for you.
I've done what is almost a "buy and sell" flip myself when I was first getting into this hobby. It was a Miyata 512 that was too small for me and very poorly advertised and sat on CL for weeks. I went and bought it for $50, cleaned it up, greased the headset, and sold it for a profit that I used to help buy myself a decent vintage road bike in my size. When I say I disagree with the standards of those just buying and selling, I'm referring to those who buy and sell immediately a regular basis who's soul intention is making some money. Those are the people with iphone apps hooked up to their local CL looking for bikes they just want to buy and quickly re-list for profit.
