You think you got it tough. I've been waiting 6 weeks for an '05 pista to get delivered to my lbs. When I first went in I was told the Canadian wholesaler or supplier had just gone belly up, that they (my lbs) had purchased every Bianchi complete, frame and part left in the country. He told me that since there was no Pistas in that purchase it ment that there were no Pistas left in the whole country. Not even one. They were going to have to order one from Italy, Lucky for me there was I shipment leaving in a couple of days and it should be in my hands in two weeks time. I was also told that when it did arrive I would have the only '05 Pista in Canada.
I wasn't foolish enought to belive that it would arrive in those two weeks since it was coming by container across the Atlantic to the U.S. then being sent up to Toronto. I did call them to find out how long it would take for it to arrive and I was told it would take an additional two weeks, but I was reminded that I would have the only in Canada. woohoo lucky me. Another two weeks came and went and still no Pista. I was told to cack call on monday that it should be in then. Guess what, no Pista.
So I went in on Thursday, six weeks since I placed my order and by now everyone in the shop knows why I'm there, they don't even have to ask. "You're the guy that's waiting for the track bike? Biachi right?" While I was there the guy who's been Helping me out called the guy in the U.S. who has my bike and was told another week, week and a half. At this point I'm almost thinking about having one built up since it's taking so damn long. It's really funny because when I first started looking for a new bike I thought a stock off the shelf bike would be in my hands a lot quicker and was one of the main reasons for ordering the Pista. I saw a De bernardi online last week in my size and I almost snatched it up but I started to think how long it would take to get all the parts together.
So I guess I'm just left here waiting for my Pista to arrive. At this point I don't care if the whole damned world gets an '05 Pista as long as I get mines too.
Sorry for jacking your thread but I really had to vent this out somehow. In the mean time
Bikeshare.org has been filling the void left when my bike was stolen last october.
