Sounds like there might be a market for a Clincher Stretcher. You never know about tires and rims. I had read some tales of woe mounting tires on the Sun M-13 II rims. Just mounted a Pasela TG 27 x 1 1/8 on one, prepared for the worst. It went right on. I couldn't quite believe it. Hope the rear is that easy.
