Now I'm just starting to put the rear rim on.
Right away after pulling the wheel and removing the tire I notice the handedness of the CR18 rim is wrong for the 32-spoke rear. I can shift it one and the spokes are not going to be too in the way of the stem but I find this mildly annoying.
The list of disadvantages of the CR18 on the Sports is starting to grow:
- The CR18 rim is narrower
- Related to #1 the brake caliper needs to move more to touch the rim and therefore a stock double-ended Raleigh cable might not work (mine is definitely not going to work as it is almost to the end of the adjustment as it is).
- The CR18 rim has a big honking UGLY black sticker that needs to go bye-bye
- The CR18 rim is HARD to install tires on as the center section of the rim is too large of diameter for the tire beads to lay down in them like the stock steel tires.
- The CR18 rim may or may not have the right handedness. My front 32-hole rim was fine -the 40-hole rim -not so much

The advantages are:
- The CR18 rim gives OUTSTANDING braking performance.
- The CR18 rim will never rust out as it is alloy.
- The CR18 rim is MUCH MUCH MUCH lighter.
- The CR18 rim feels more lively IMHO.
