Although I'm all for technology improving access to information about how to get here or there, I'm also impressed by people with a sense of adventure. So for example instead of having an app that tells them how to get to work on a bicycle, they start out on their own and start exploring the neighborhoods, and find the best routes by trial and error, by talking to others in their circumstance.
Also, I was most impressed by the lady who said, " it didn't have to be all or nothing. You can find alternate transportation for just one day a week... as least for starters." I suspect those who were forced to give up their car for a week were probably quite disoriented. Better if they planned a one-day excusion by bus or bike and treat it as an adventure...
