I'm John, 50 and live very close to the ocean near the MA/RI border. I have a vintage early 80's Fuji Touring Series IV, that I took across country in 84, New Zealand in 90. Also have a ~1990 Univega Alpina Pro (or team?) MTN Bike - that's pre-suspension.

By BikeSnob's definition, I would be a Retro-Grouch. Only my road bike has index shifting and the Fuji has bar-ends.

Have not toured in years, but late spring I am riding with a friend and son on a 4-day in So. Vermont. Have the lean-to's booked already! Since my friend is riding a cargo bike and my son, a Mtn Bike, so, I'll be touring on a mountain bike as well.

I'll likely transfer my Blackburn Low Rider to the Mtn bike (hope it fits) and tour only with front panniers and stuff on the rear rack. My son will be using my friend's BOB trailer. I have two other sets on panniers, but they are blown out.

Hoping to get back into biking much, much more this year and do a couple of tours - next time on Fuji Touring Series IV.
