The Dolce brake levers have adjustable reach in the form of shims. This used to only be available from Shimano to fit specific levers... ST-R600 (Ultegra-class short-reach) I believe. The Dolce is equipped with these levers.



However Specialized sells shims that will work with 9-speed 105 and Ultegra levers now. Some people have manufactured their own shims out of solid blocks of rubber for other lever types.
