Uh, yeah they are. Most of them will take a harder impact, and can take multiple impacts, because the outer shell isn't o thin and easily flexible. They're essentially bicycle helmets inside of batting helmets. I don't know what they test snowboarding helmets to, but most skateboarding helmets are also sold to BMX freestylers.
I know that my Pryme 8 helmets were sold as surpassing the CPSC's certification.
