What do you bring along on a group ride?

I just got my first real road bike the other day. Its a Corratec Dolomiti with Sora components. Not the best in the world, but suits me for a first bike. Anyways, I am going to go on a beguiners group ride in the morning, and was getting my set up ready. here is what I have so far. I have a cateye wireless, but I also have a garmin colorado 400I GPS, and a bike mout for it I used on my mountain bike adventures. I am leaning towards using the Garmin because it gives me more information.. IE: Temperature, elevation, Speed, mileage, max speed Etc. and if I get lost I can track my route.

So my first question is would you use the Cateye, or the Garmin.. only draw back on the garmin is its a little bit bigger.

I have one of those little bags that go under the seat, what do you guys put in there? I have a patch kit, a spare tube, a little allen wrench thing, a gerber tool, and 2 plastic tire removers. I dont have a pump yet, so I figured I would bring the tube, and the patch kit, and hope somone else has a pump I could borrow if needed.

I also have 2 water bottles full.

My final question is, should I have all this stuff attatched to the bike, or should I remove it, and bring a camel back with water, and put all the things in the seat bag in the camel back?

thanks for your help!
