Good idea on the johnson and johnson stuff... even have some of it here. I'll try a couple of layers over the velox and see how that does. The J&J is kind of thin (thickness).
Too much buildup of rim strip material can make it difficult to mount tires with tight beads. And that can cause more rim strip movement.
