Ran into a headwind all the way down to the shop and then had to take a long detour as they had closed the main central bridge for cleaning which warranted a ride down into the river valley and up the other side and back into the city which is good for some challenging short climbs and steep grades.
Met up with some friends and they commented on me riding my fixed gear and them having touring bikes... and I did have to wait for them at the top of the climb out of the river valley.
One of the benefits of riding all winter is you hit spring with well tuned legs and always finding a little extra inspiration whenever the road points straight up.
