Not sure what your preferences are as to fit the bike, but Weinmann made some wide, sidepulls for Schwinn in the 70's (atleast). I've got two sets of them. They fit over fenders nearly wide enough for mtn bike tires. And, they would be a normal reach for the standard 27" frames of the day.
