Maybe I'm just a cynic, but it seems much more likely that the future will bring a world that's hooked into the web and spending 99% of the time looking up porn or watching mindless reality TV - i.e. wasting time and energy rather than spending it.
I would use this forum as an example of technology that has helped people be carfree, and to get more out of being carfree, and to feel a sense of community in being cargree. Evidently you agree or you wouldn't be here. Why shouldn't new mobile technology along with newer types of webwites do even more than this forum does?
