You had no other choice. Unfortunately some dog owners are careless and let their pets run free. It is doubtful that this dog had an owner, or if it did, a rotten one for sure. I am just so very sorry you had to go through a terriable ordeal like this. What a scary moment. Happy you are safe. You did the right thing. THIS is why I am a cat person. Well, not really...but one more reason.
