As the saying goes, your mileage may vary. I use mainly warm water and mild dish soap with lots of time to soak. Pretty much exactly the opposite of what you want to do with simple green. It is very much a carry over from my mountain biking routine in that I needed to clean everything every time I rode in dirty conditions. I doubt your Colnago sees much exposure to salt melted snow mixed with washer fluid and sand in below freezing temps.
Not yet, but it most likely will this coming winter. The "new" thing has wore off, now it's just a bike.
My other bikes and all of my mountain bikes have seen all kinds of crappy conditions. I raced mountain bikes for a few years before I became a roadie.
I figured out the other day that I have owned over 30 bikes in the past ten years or so, none of them were ever babied. Some of my roadies have even seen single track action.
