the interenet can sell high volume and therefore lower the prices, while a boutique LBS will barely get 15 people in the door a day. They have to mark up the price at a significantly different rate just to be able to pay the bills. The biggest reason I can ever give people for continuing to shop at the lbs is just to support the owner and community because the internet will almost always have better prices.
