JS also had a cracked seatpost (SST), but it seemed solid... until the pedal strike pole-vault broke it most of the way off. He sat very balanced for the rest of the race...

Yeah, something's up this year.

Oh, and he crashed on our training ride yesterday (into grass, going slow). Then our other training partner broke a spoke. That was all after my saddle cracked. Hmm.
