polishing silver rims
A couple months ago I got a pair of 32H 700c Mavic MA2 rims from Zaphod, figuring I could lace them to a pair of 32H / 40H hubs. They are silver colored, which I suspect --but am not sure-- is an anodized coating. They have ferules in the spoke holes; chromed steel, I imagine.
But yesterday Providence smiled and granted me a pair of 40H 700c Wolber 58's, for $5 each. They are polished aluminum and have ferules in the spoke holes; chromed steel, I imagine.
So I'm wondering if I can Easy-off the MA2's and polish them well enough to match the Wolbers, sorta-kinda. I imagine the Easy-off part is easy enough; but how much polishing is needed after that? If have to wet sand the whole rim, while carefully avoiding scratching the ferules, that might be more PITA than I want.
