It's the proper housing alright, compressionless and all. I'll try to snatch some photos.

You can see the cable stops here, and you might notice that the one on the chainstop is very simple- the hole that goes through is the same width all the way, no tapering for a ferrule to rest in. The ones on the downtube are alright, I reckon:
