About to sandblast my Eighthinch Cranks?

Sooo. My school now has a tiny media-blasting booth The booth is only about 18" square! I was wondering if anyone has tried to sandblast their 8th inch crankset? The reason I ask is because I just spent about 2 hours blasting my stratos bullhorns and my bar end brake levers. The bars came out fine with a very nice finish. The levers on the other hand....Only the paint on the actual lever (handle) came off, the connector remained the same (scratched black paint). The reason I ask is because I dont want to go through the trouble of taking off the cranks only to find out the paint wont come off? Is there any way to tell beforehand? The media used was a very fine sand/glass.
