Sorry to point this out, but if everyone were to think rationally for a moment, this discussion has absolutely nothing to do with gun ownership--whether its a handgun, shotgun or so called "assault rifle". This is about dogs--a living, breathing organism that is capable of behavior with or without the influence of its owner (quite different from a gun in the end, isn't it). It would be far more intelligent to leave the discussion of guns out of this alltogether, since it has absolutely NOTHING to do with this incident, or any relevance in the continuing discussion. If my assualt rifle all of the sudden decides to jump out of the safe and attack a cyclist, all without my involvement, then we can talk about it in this thread--until then lets leave the pro and anti-gun stuff for another thread, k?
