Also, the actual shoes can make a difference. Now I see why people rave about Shimano shoes. I should have bought them long ago. The shape of the "last" is more curved than a walking shoe, for cycling, not walking. I don't find them annoying to walk in, in the least, but they are such a huge joy to cycle in them.
