I do not want to spend much and need a decent roadbike that wont break down on me for my ride.

You're just starting NOW? I'm on the same ride and it's just a month and a half away....have you started training? Gotta say, I don't envy you if you're just starting to ride.

And I just lent my spare bike to a team member; which team are you on?
At the price level your looking at, I'd try Cap's Bicycles - there's stores in Coquitlam, New West, Richmond. BSP in Langley and downtown, and try MEC on Broadway. The other more dedicated bike stores will have higher price points. But don't forget not to skimp on good riding shorts....120Km on first day can be painful. You can get away with regular pedals/shoes, but also helmet, riding gloves, water bottles, and a spare kit for potential flats. So on top of the bike, you'll probably need to budget another $200 or so.
